Il Clònpär era un saldatore che si stabiliva temporaneamente nelle piazze dei vari paesi e, dopo aver preparato la sua fucinella portatile alimentata a carbone, attendeva che le massaie gli portassero secchi, padelle e pentole da aggiustare e stagnare. Dal 1870 i Clònpär hanno alimentato l'emigrazione delle valli del Comelico. Partivano da Dosoledo, Padola, Casamazzagno, Candide e Costa. Molti andavano in altre regioni del nord Italia, ma, oltre la metà, andava all'estero: Svizzera, Germania, Austria e Francia erano le mete più ambite. Fino agli anni ‘60 sono stati almeno 350 (due o tre generazioni).
